Boats and Recreational Vehicles

Electrical systems are the heart of our business. All of our harnesses used tinned wire to resist the harmful effects of corrosion from salt water environments. Each harness is designed by our engineering team and you to ensure that every component, gauge, timer, and accessory is properly powered and that each outlet falls precisely where it is needed in your platform. No shunting wires and butting branches here and there to reach your components. Our harnesses are clean and wrapped to ensure proper fit every time.

Marine

Fishing boats, stern drives, utility boats. We have been manufacturing marine electrical harnesses for over 25 years and we supply 6 of the top 10 manufacturers of aluminum boats manufactured in the USA. We supply the electrical infrastructure for every type of craft. Our Just-in-time, lean manufacturing operation allows us to easily change from one design to the next with no interruption in our production schedule. We can build 5 harnesses or 5000 with as little as two weeks lead time. Our color coding system has been adopted by ABYC as the industry standard.

Outboard Motor Tester

The MEP Outboard Motor Tester is a valuable tool needed by every boat manufacturer, marina, or boatyard. Test any outboard or I/O motor withour needing to actually installing it into aboat. This durable tool is housed in a waterproof carrycase, includes Tach/Volt/Trim/oil/Temp gauges and switches for Trim I/O, Trim O/B, Safety Stop, Push-to-choke, Tach Pulse setting, and keyed ignition. This in one tool that you don’t want to be without. Can be ordered in black, yellow, or day-glo orange.

Our tooling department works with your design to create permanent molds

Design changes and alterations are included as part of the tooling charge, so you don’t have additional cost to make design changes before final casting. Supply your technical drawings or use our service. Either way, you’ll be amazed at how quickly and efficiently your components come to life.

Plastic / Composite Products

Our plastics and composites division is creating new and exciting products daily. This state-of-the-art facility incorporates vacuum forming, fiberglass, custom paint shop, and computerized trim services. Components are trimmed and cut using a laser cutting system to ensure precise cuts for panels, switches, and components every time.

Materials such as padded vinyl cladding, soft-touch material, and Thermopolyolefin allow us to make unique and extremely durable products. The fiberglass process uses a custom formulated resin to ensure excellent chemical bonding to plastic forms providing outstanding structural integrity.

Truck fenders

MEP has developed three lines of aftermarket fenders for large trucks and semi tractors. Both decorative and functional, we have borrowed some of our marine-based technology in advanced material design and forming.

The Sentinel Composites Mark-I fender (pictured) is designed to compliment the good looks of your custom rig. These units are designed to be strong and have a beautiful paintable finish. Lighter than standard fiberglass offerings, the Sentinel Brand Super-Single fenders weigh in at only 57 pounds, providing all of the “look” with little of the weight. Match these with decorative chrome strips for a truly custom look. Custom paint colors available or receive them in prep-ready paintable form. Easily mountable with most universal-fit mounting hardware.

The Protector series of fenders are crafted from TPO to withstand the day-to-day abuse of fleet trucks. Painted, these fenders look like they cost hundreds more.

The Poly-Pro! fender is our value positioned fender. Constructed from high density polyethylene, this fender will stand up to the most abusive situations with hardly a scratch.

Marine Items

Command consoles, dash boards, and switch panels are only the beginning. We manufacture scores of components that outfit the interiors of today’s pleasure boats. Specialty materials with vinyl cladding, wood-grain, or colorful patterns set the tone for your boat. There’s no need to use flat aluminum switch panels when we can craft a console that is beautiful and functional.

Marine Command Consoles

Command consoles are the eyes, ears, and heart of your boat. Every function is monitored. Every appliance is powered and controlled here. When you order a fully loaded console from MEP, the gauges, switches, and control components are ready to plug into your wire harness. All of our electrical systems are ABYC compliant and every system is tested on a computerized testing station to ensure reliability.

We take great pride in creating some of the most stylish and durable consoles on the water today. We use plastics that resist U.V. fading, have a beautiful sheen, and exceed all structural safety requirements to keep your family safe.

Custom Designs

Creating your own design for your boat is easy. Start with one of our time tested platforms or dream up something entirely new. Our design and engineering department will work with you to create a functional command console outfitted with all of the equipment and controls that you want. Want to move a switch panel or add a depth finder? Not a problem. Once you finalize the drawings, we build customized tooling to replicate your consoles.

Color and Material Choices

The color and material of your console sets the tone for your craft. Choose a soft-touch vinyl clad material console with wood grain panels to give your luxury boat an expensive feel. Use a brushed aluminum gauge panel to create a competition look. Or, choose a carbon fiber panel to convey high tech. We also can fabricate matching port-side enclosures to complement the command console along with interior side panels, recessed and locking doors, locking cubbies, as well as custom speaker enclosures with matched grills, mounted tackle boxes, gear holders, live-wells, and pedestal tables. The possibilities are endless.
